Speedhack detection?
« on: April 13, 2013, 22:02:22 »
Speedhackers are annoying as ya' know.

Speedhackin' can be detected server side as ya' may or may not know. :d

BUT the built in CS2D antispeeder doesn't work very well. (1. It kicks/bans innocent people thanks to net lag and stuff. 2. It doesn't detect "smart" speedhacks. 3. Does it work at all when lua is used to change player speed?)

Have you (Häppy Campa' mainly) ever tried to implement more advanced antispeedhack with lua and how difficult would it be? :d

I have implemented a speedhack detection function, but it doesn't work with portal guns so it wouldn't work on some rounds. Also, it uses a few "sensitive" hooks so I am a bit afraid it might lag the server if there are a lot of players.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you. :o
