Hey guys (and gals, if there are any). News and Announcements is a place where Häppy C@mper makes his topics about updates and such, but today I'm going to try my luck and enter this uncharted territory of the forum. It's been roughly 8 months since I began as an administrator here at Hot Chills. We've had bad times, good times and better times, but I think it's time for me to move on. Lately I've had less and less time to fully devote myself to CS2D. With that and my sudden lack of interest in the game I have decided to step down from the position of an administrator here at Hot Chills. I have learned a lot and all in all I think we had a good run. I'll possibly keep checking on the forum every now and then, but don't expect to see me at any server. It's been a pleasure guys, thank you for everything.

So this is just a short topic to explain where and why I've been in the past week. Due to the end of the school year in where I live, I've been extremely busy with a lot of extra-curricular things. I refrained myself from playing CS2D and posting stuff here so I could finish this (fairly important) year without any problems. Now with the start of the summer I've mostly been in the country-side where I have been kept busy with other things. This will most likely carry on for a week and a half, not more. Concerning the applies I urge you all to keep patient, I'll tend to them as soon as I find more time. Meanwhile I hope you are all enjoying this pleasantly warm summer.

As it seems quite a lot of people think they can post anything and anyhow I've listed these basic rules to follow.
1) Respect other users/mods/admins. That means no insulting. Seems as if people are having a hard time understanding this. Do not insult in the chatbox, on the topics, in the PMs. Discuss your matters like normal, civilized people.
2) No spam-posts. Try to refrain from making useless posts. If the only thing you have to say is "ok" or "xD" then it's not worth posting. Double-posting will also be frowned upon.
3) Use English when making posts, or at least provide a translation (preferably in the same post). Mod applies should only be written in English.
4) Don't stray too far from the topic. That means no posts about weather on Moderator applies and no chatter about applies on the "How's your weather today ?" topic.
5) Don't bump/revive really old topics (not like we have any yet).
6) Don't send multiple PMs to Mods/Admins about the same subject. We understood the first time, it just takes a little while for us to find time for you.
7) Posts should not advertise any product/site/clan/server/whatever.
I believe this is it for now. Read the rules and (try to) memorize them.
Edit: Rule 7 added.

Anyways as it seems I can't get the message through any other way, I'll just make a new topic for it. I can understand a lot of you guys are anxious to see whether you will be accepted or rejected, but contrary to popular belief, it turns out spamming "please check my apply" and "pls accept me already" does not improve your chances of being accepted. Furthermore, as you don't seem to learn at all I will be noting down people who can't keep themselves patient for these few days. The people who end up on the list will find it much harder to get accepted. I'm not mad or anything, I just hope you can respect us and understand that we really do need time to work through the applies, it wont take long anymore. Thank you for reading.

Like the name implies, these are just a few basic things I find should be on your apply. I don't want you to copy/paste them, as I like the applies written freely. But if possible, answer these questions in your apply:
1) USGN ID
2) In-game name.
3) How active you can/will be.
4) Have you had any prior experience as a moderator?
5) Why exactly do you want to be a Mod/SMod ? (the above question is actually useful in several ways for us, so go ahead and write what you think)
6) *OPTIONAL* Something about yourself you think we should/could know.
NB! Do not send me your applies via Personal Message. if you can't post in this section this probably means I'm currently not accepting any new applies.
Also I urge you to write your applies in English.
Applying for a promotion:
Initially, as a new player you will apply for the position of a Moderator and then (assuming you were accepted) you will either be assigned as a Junior Moderator (J-Mod) or a normal Moderator (Mod). Most people will start as a Junior Moderator, a rank with limited powers where you will be examined, or "tested", if you prefer that term. Instantly starting off as a (regular) Moderator presumes that you are known and trusted by the Administrators (Me and Turkey).
Now, on to the actual promoting. There are no set requirements or goals that you must fulfil before you can apply for a promotion, although the soonest is the next period of time in which we will be accepting new applies. That means you can't instantly apply for a promotion after being accepted as a J-Mod/Mod.
The application itself should be like any other apply, though you should point out that you are indeed asking for a promotion (preferably in the name/subject of the topic). If you get rejected for whatever reason, the soonest time to re-apply is once again the next time I start accepting new applies.
If you have any more questions about this or anything, feel free to send me a personal Message (PM).
When I think of anything else useful/someone else tells me (don't be shy to PM your ideas) I will add it to the list. For now, that's it.

So like the name implies, this topic is about this forum. Just an idea or two that I think would be great. So first, as forums can be used to spread news and info quickly and easily to a large amount of people, most Mods on server should make an account here. Secondly I think the old VIP system should be restored. People who want VIP will have to make an account and apply here. Then their forum activeness will be measured (unlike server activeness right now) and a VIP can let any Admins ( I suppose only you at the moment, Happy ) know of when and why they will be in-active. This might be a little too much too fast considering the forum has been up for 2 days or so. But I guess these 2 paragraphs up there were worth a quick read. Just my opinion, thanks for reading. *QUICK EDIT* A chat-box would also be nice if it's possible.
