Moderator Applications / Re: promo to smod
« on: May 26, 2015, 16:25:36 »
I play 2-4 hours regularly every day. I don't play undercover and I say hi to every mod I see. The fact that sometimes days pass without seeing a single moderator (let alone admins) makes me think its not my fault that you don't know me. On the other hand I made quite a few friend with the server regulars, those that are actually active on the server. This might also be the reason you should consider letting me ban cheaters for good.

And well about leaving. Its always a possibility and I make no promises. Clearly I will leave when I get bored with the game and then I might come back later.

Edit: Bounty, I sent you a long message with many points, not long ago. You did not read it, at least not all of it.
If you don't bother reading one's messages, how do you expect to get to know him?

Please forgive me for sounding disrespectful, its not my intention. I just don't respond well to false logic.

Moderator Applications / promo to smod

Hey,

The main reason i'm applying for this is to finally ban cheaters permamently.

I don't really know what to say. I'm quite sure I'm one of the most active players on the server since I started playing.

In the two weeks I have been a mod I banned quite a few cheaters. I record evidence before banning the cheaters and whenever I have some free energy I upload them to this youtube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCj2FQcK0jplScRnOKx7Dqiw/

With that in mind I think it isn't very risky giving me permban since I can back up all of my decisions. I'm ready to be demoted whenever I'm found abusing permban. In case I ban someone innocent, I will report that immidietly of course.

I do not understand why you apply for promotion if you play and moderate on other server(s).

I haven't seen you in the last week either, that should make your inactivity argument invalid.

Can you please tell us what F2//Activity shows on the server. I play a few hours every day during different times. I believe I would have seen you sometimes regardless of the timezones if you were active enough.

It would be silly from me to vote without having talked with you at least once or seen you acting as a moderator, I just wanted to point out the lack of encounter.

Server / Language rule
« on: May 12, 2015, 11:18:29 »
Hello,

This suggestion about a possible new rule. It happens quite often that two or even more players speak the same language (apart from english) and they choose to do so in the main chat.

For someone who doesn't speak that language it looks like nonsense, right? And if it was nonsense, it would be considered spam, which is not allowed. Following that logic I would suggest to add a rule to the server info that says something like "Speak only english in the main/general chat".

There is a pm function to which (as far as I know) everyone have access.

In case it is already a rule, please make it visible because its obviously not clear for the average player and we can't refer to them as easilly as "Press F1".

Since our set of rules are written in english, there are players who wouldn't understand this new rule and therefor not knowing they are breaking it. For those there is not much to do other than warning, eventually muting and hoping he/she gets the point. In my opinion its more important that most players are not annoyed with full-screen nonsense than a few player's privilige to using their mother tongue.

Obviously one or two line from any language is not an issue, I'm talking about long conversations.

What do you think?

Server / Re: New command for vip
« on: May 10, 2015, 22:38:02 »
I personally saw the command and I think I even used it once or twice but there was no feedback so I didn't know if its useful or not.

Maybe an information banner every 2 min would help. Saying: "Use the report function for xy"
But then again, if nearly every player have this command, the reports could be spammed and there would be no way to verify the quality.

Server / Re: New command for vip

If I may share my opinion.

I agree so called VIPs shouldn't have access to ones IP address, but I also think some active players should. They could actively help.

A few hours ago I was in the latter category and eventhough I tried to note down cheaters, without their USGNs I couldn't really help. (Right Electron?)

So my proposal is to make a new user group that could be handed out more freely to those who are eager to help.

Perhaps rename VIP status to "Server Regular" and create new VIP for the above mentioned category. (Simply because the term VIP suggest its above Server Regular)

So players who play 2 hours would be Server Regulars (or Regulars) and a little more advanced group would be the VIP, which would be given out by admins (perhaps based on the suggestion of mods) and they would have a few more privilige compared to regulars (including the access to USGNs).

Moderator Applications / AREIOS's application [Accepted]

Short intro:
Hello! My nick is AREIOS. I'm 20 years old from Hungary. I first played cs2d in 2011 with my classmates but I shortly became MIA. I reinstalled the game few months ago. I have been studying english for at least 10 years now but quite frankly I learned the language by playing online games, watching movies/TV shows. As to my skills ingame, my honest opinion is that I'm strong average. Good players kick my ass and I can pretty much do that to newbies :)

1) USGN ID: 84750

2) In-game name: AREIOS

3) How active you can/will be: I'm student, facing the summer. I can be pretty active.

4) Have you had any prior experience as a moderator? Yes. I had been a co-leader of a large gaming community for 3 years and I'm currently a moderator on ares construction server.

5) Why exactly do you want to be a Mod/SMod ? To be honest, I don't. As mentioned above, I have had my fair share of being an admin/moderator I just want to enjoy the game now. The reason I'm applying is quite obvious, I don't want to play with cheaters. In the last few days alone I counted a few dozen and we only managed to kick a fraction of them.

If you approve my application you can expect me to represent the community well and follow whatever rules you have (for mods). I will focus on keeping the server clean from troublemakers but I will also stay active on the forums too.

I had a nice chat with an admin called E[A] the other day. Can you please tell me under what alias is he hiding here on the forum?
