Lol. After shutdown everything is reseted. 6 bots are added to server until human players login.
-
I didn't see like this a question in HC server before.

New knowledge is very useful here. Read Ee wanted to study it further.

DoS mean "system firewall has been cracked/closed" by an anonymous user.
-
No, DoS attacks are simply overloading the server with a request so many times that it can't handle the load, which results in the server to temporarily shut down.
In proper English:
saturating the target machine with external communications requests, so much so that it cannot respond to legitimate traffic, or responds so slowly as to be rendered essentially unavailable. Such attacks usually lead to a server overload.
-
Right, Elfing. Dossing is sending many empty packets to specific IP overloading it and making it stop.
-
Emty packets? FALSE!
Attacker can choose data that will be send, UDP packet size can be from 28-65535bytes.
-
@Evaldas. Gotcha! Such an admin like I do mistakes often :D
-
Like giving info to person and request em' to toward to other servers and shutdown the main one
-
Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) means to send tons of udp packages to a specific ip adress to take down it's traffic. You need to attack the receiving ip with more than one ip adress at the same time(works with several computers), else it would be just a simple DoS attack. Just to clarify this
-
So DDos is like double DoS ye?
-
Not double. It's just only that DDoS involves more than one pc.
-
But it's more powerful isn't it?
-
As for the empty packets, cs2d servers have a vulnerability of crashing when receiving empty packets (as so I've seen and heard), there is a way to counter it with some magic tho.
DDos is when multiple (alot; could be in tens to hundreds) are used to focus sending packets to one IP causing it to xplod
-
DDoS is way more effective than a simple DoS attack. The problem about DDoS is that it's hard and or expensive to protect your system from those attacks.
